AMTOBA ("we," "us," or "our"), which may operate as AMTOBA, LLC or another legal entity, operates the TapTrader mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using the App, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

  • Display name ("TraderName"). If you set a TraderName, we collect and store it to ensure global uniqueness (so no two users have the same name) and for app operation, regardless of whether you use the online leaderboard. We publish your TraderName and score on the public online leaderboard only when you opt in to "Online leaderboard" in the App. If you change your TraderName, existing entries on the leaderboard keep your previous name and score; only new submissions use the new name.
  • Leaderboard and game data. When you play, we may store and display: your chosen display name, score (net worth), game duration, number of trades, and date/time of the score. This data may be stored on your device and, only if you have enabled the online leaderboard, published on our servers (e.g., Firebase) for the public leaderboard.

1.2 Automatically collected information

  • Device and usage. We may collect or receive information about your device (e.g., type, OS) and how you use the App (e.g., to improve the App or fix issues). This may be collected through the App or through third-party services we use (such as Firebase or Apple).
  • In-app purchase data. If you make in-app purchases (e.g., themes), Apple processes the payment. We may receive information about the purchase (e.g., that a theme was unlocked) in accordance with Apple's policies. We do not receive your payment card details.

1.3 What we do not collect

We do not collect real-world financial or banking information through the App. All in-app "money" and scores are virtual/play data only, have no real monetary value, and are for entertainment only.

We do not require you to create an account with us; optional features (like leaderboard display name) may use data you choose to provide.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • • Provide, maintain, and improve the App (including leaderboards and online features).
  • • Display your chosen display name and scores on leaderboards (local and, if applicable, online).
  • • Process or recognize in-app purchases (e.g., theme unlocks) via Apple.
  • • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • • Analyze usage (e.g., crashes, performance) to improve the App, where we use third-party tools.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their marketing. We may share information with service providers (e.g., Firebase, Apple) only as needed to operate the App and as described in this policy.

3. Where Your Information Is Stored

  • On your device. Some data (e.g., top scores, preferences, username) is stored locally on your device.
  • Online / cloud. If you use online leaderboard features, we use services such as Google Firebase to store and display leaderboard data (e.g., display name, score, duration, trade count, date). Data may be processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate. By using the App, you consent to this transfer and processing. If you are located outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States or such other locations.
  • Security. We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Data Retention

  • Leaderboard data. We may retain leaderboard data (display name, scores, etc.) for as long as the App or the leaderboard feature is offered, or as needed for legal or operational reasons.
  • Local data. Data stored only on your device may be removed when you delete the App or clear app data.
  • If the App or a service is discontinued. If we discontinue the App or a feature, we may delete or no longer provide access to data associated with the App (including data related to in-app purchases), as described in our Terms of Service. We are not obligated to retain or provide access to that data after discontinuation.

We may delete or anonymize data when it is no longer needed for the purposes described in this policy.

5. Your Rights and Choices

  • Display name. You can change or remove your TraderName in the App's settings. This may not remove already-published leaderboard entries; contact us if you want specific data removed.
  • Opt-out of online leaderboard. You can avoid using online leaderboard features; local-only use limits the data we store in the cloud.
  • Device permissions. You can control app permissions (e.g., notifications) in your device settings.
  • Access, correction, deletion. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold. Contact us (see Section 8) to request this. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
  • California / other residents. If you are a California resident or in another jurisdiction with specific privacy rights, you may have additional rights (e.g., to know, delete, or opt out of "sale" of personal information). We do not "sell" personal information as typically defined under such laws. To exercise your rights, contact us as in Section 8.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 13, do not use the App or provide any information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy (e.g., in the App or on our website) and update the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
